Diet Solution Review

Hello, this is Christopher Dexter from Get a Fit Body Now with a review on The Diet Solution Program.
The Diet Solution was created by Isabel De Los Rios. She is a Nutritionist, an exercise specialist, a speaker and an author.
Now, I’ve have gone over many products that fit in the weight loss/fitness arena of the Internet and found several good products or programs, but I felt that The Diet Solution Program was the best for the following reasons:
- Even though other products contain similar information, The Diet Solution presents this information in a much easier to understand manner.
- The principles taught can also be applied to obese children and teens, not just adults.
- It explains what you may have been doing right, what you may have been doing wrong and how to make corrections so you can lose your unwanted fat.
- Alternative choices for those allergic to certain foods.
- Questionnaire helps you determine your personal metabolism type so you can adjust the program accordingly.
- I saw a list of all of the resources that were used to put The Diet Solution together and it was incredible. This shows this program wasn’t just thrown together in an evening. Isabel De Los Rios worked hard to build this into what it is.
- Recipes galore are included. In fact, you are told exactly what foods you need and given detailed meal plans that you can adjust for your own taste.
- You are shown what foods burn fat, which foods prevent you from losing fat and how to put the right foods together for maximum fat loss. That’s how you get a fit body!
- And finally, after applying the principles found in this program, even I lost 41 pounds.
What I like the most about what Isabel teaches is that she cuts through the contradicting information that is being pushed upon all of us by the media about what we should be doing to lose weight and get fit.
Now this is what I thought could have been done better:
- Isabel’s videos are okay, but in this age of high definition video, I had hoped for more. But, perhaps she is economically minded and didn’t want to have some big budget video company telling her how to do her videos. In any case, she gets the job done. I just like high production value. She gives out the proper information, only without any razzle-dazzle or sparkling spectacle.
- Perhaps I missed something, but I like exercise and wanted to see all the grueling punishments to which I would be subjected to lose the fat I’m carrying. But, apparently, nutrition is the main key to burning off fat. Yes, Isabel does say somewhere that some form of exercise should be done. I was just expecting more pain for the fit body I was gaining. Actually, maybe I should be grateful.
Well, there you have it.

Bicycle Exercise…Having Fun Losing Weight!

How Bicycle Exercise Had Me Enjoying Every Pound I Lost
Bicycle exercise to me is a lot of fun and it has done a lot to help me get a fit body. So, I wanted to tell you my true story about how I had fun riding a bike and lost weight without ever thinking about it.
I was asked to do some work in the Netherlands (Holland) for a while. I knew that I’d be going without a car and bought a bike instead. And the bicycle exercise would do me good, I thought.
But, I did have a concern when I bought it. You see, at that time I weighed 283 pounds and I worried that I wouldn’t be able to get to my destination each day without collapsing somewhere huffing and puffing because of all that bicycle exercise in this country whose language I didn’t know and where no one knew me. I lived in South Rotterdam and had to ride west about 16 miles each morning and then when my day was done, I rode 16 miles back. AND, I had to somehow cross the Maas river.
The Masstunnel
The Mass river is one of those big rivers where huge ships bring cargo into Rotterdam which is one of the largest ports in the world. I did not see any bridge over it on the map, but did see a dotted line crossing the river called the “Masstunnel.”
So, I put on my suit my first day and set out by bicycle and found after getting off the main streets that there was a bicycle path through a large park. It was a beautiful place and I enjoyed the ride through it. Then I came to the Maas river and looked for this “Maastunnel.” Most Dutch people ride bicycles everywhere and so I followed a group and they led me right to the building that led to the Masstunnel. It starts with an escalator ride down, so I dismounted and descended as all the other riders did.
Upon arriving at the mouth of the tunnel, I notice right off that it wasn’t going to be a level ride under the river. It went down at an angle and looking at the diagrams on the wall I could see that it would eventually come up at the same angle on the other side. Which meant that I could coast on the bike going down, but would have to pedal (if I could) up the other side. I got on the bike and flew down at speeds I don’t think I’ve ever reached on a bicycle before. I even coasted up some of the way on the other side. Then I tried to pedal until I just couldn’t anymore and walked the bike the rest of the way. The Dutch people would glide by on their bicycles wondering why I couldn’t go any further. The Dutch are fit people who are in shape and healthy and I wasn’t. It certainly wasn’t bicycle exercise to them. To them, bicycle exercise is so much of their daily life, that staying in shape isn’t a problem for them.
To get a better idea of what the Masstunnel was like, I found this video you can watch. The song it plays is sung in Dutch which I found nice to listen to:
After the tunnel, I still had quite a ways to go to the village of Schiedam where I did most of my work. The first day was hard as I expected it to be. I made it there and back again at the end of the day. But, I huffed and puffed and sweated. Gee, I wished I had worked on how to be healthy before then. Each day got a little better and I was enjoying myself really. I felt like a kid again.
In time, I was able to ride the full length of the Masstunnel like the Dutch people. I didn’t huff, puff or sweat anymore. I enjoyed the ride each day even in the rain and snow. It wasn’t bicycle exercise anymore, it was just pure fun.
I Just Ate Whatever
Now, during these months I wasn’t watching what I ate. I just ate what was available in the country which was mostly natural, non-processed foods which was far better for me anyway. I could tell that all that riding had trimmed me down somewhat and gave me better leg muscles. But, I didn’t know how much of a change I had gone through until I got back to the United States. Dutch scales weigh in kilos and I never did get the hang of the conversion between pounds and kilos, so I hopped on a scale as soon as I got home and was shocked to see that I weighed 243 pounds. That meant I lost 40 pounds just riding a bike everyday.
Exercise doesn’t have to be something you hate. Find something you love and do that. You’ll enjoy every pound of fat you lose. I certainly did. For me, it was bicycle exercise.
Blood Sugar Levels Affect Weight Loss And Appetite

Why controlling Blood Sugar Levels is so Necessary!
Where our blood sugar levels are can easily determine whether or not we get and keep a fit body. The carbohydrates we eat convert into blood sugar or glucose. This gives us energy. Our blood sugar level affects the intensity of our appetite and how much energy we have. It also determines whether we burn fat or store it because when there is excess blood sugar to make energy, then there is no need to burn fat.
Insulin from our body’s pancreas helps blood sugar get into the cells of our body when it becomes energy. Natural carbohydrate-rich foods contain fiber that slow the process of carbohydrates becoming blood sugar. Refined carbohydrate-rich foods that have most of their fiber stripped away cause the pancreas to quickly produce the large amount of insulin necessary to process all the excess blood sugar in our system into energy. The large production of insulin tells the brain that there is no need to burn fat because it is converting lots of blood sugar into energy instead of converting fat into energy. So, the brain then tells the body to store fat instead of burning it. You will not get fit that way.
Have you ever felt tired after eating sugary foods, breads, cakes or pasta? This is what happens to you when all that insulin moves all that blood sugar into your cells. Now both the insulin and sugar levels in the blood are below normal. And what do most of us think we have to do? We think we have to eat again to try to bring our energy up. This becomes a repetitive cycle that keeps us putting more sugar into our blood and keeps the body storing fat instead of burning it. In other words, we gain weight!
What Kinds of Carbs Raise Blood Sugar and Insulin Levels?
Simple Carbohydrates are the culprit. These include table sugar, fruit sugar and dairy sugars. They are used in processed foods and beverages. And the companies that make them often disguise the fact that simple carbohydrates are in their foods. Carefully read the labels on the products you buy. Look for carbohydrate names like sucrose, fructose, lactose and fruit juice (basically another form of processed beverage). Avoid them. They will mess with your sugar and insulin levels.
What Can You Do Instead?
- Choose foods with a lot more fiber. Fiber slows down the breakdown of carbohydrates into sugar and keeps your blood sugar at a more normal level. Look for less processed, more natural breads, cereals, etc. Try breads made from spelt, brown rice or sprouted grains.
- Don’t skip meals as this causes a drop in your levels. Carry some sort of high-protein meal replacement bar or shake wherever you go.
- Drink Blueberry Tea. Blueberry tea leaves extract are known to reduce blood sugar by 26% and Triglycerides by 39%. If you don’t like it hot, make a pitcher of it and put it in the fridge. Just don’t add sugar. It would defeat the purpose of it.
- Use more cinnamon. Cinnamon mimics insulin function and therefore also reduces blood sugar levels. You probably already have it in your spice rack or you can find it easily at any supermarket.
- Take Supplements that help to reduce blood sugar like gymnema sylvestre. It is an herb that has been used for thousands of years that reduces blood sugar. It has been known to reduce cholesterol and fight obesity.
So, to get and keep that fit body…control that sugar!
Good Fats vs. Bad Fats– Not All Fat Is Bad

Good Fats vs. Bad Fats–Not All Fat Is Bad
Good fats vs Bad fats…Do you know the difference and how it will affect your efforts to get a fit body? Do you know which foods contain good fats? You’re probably thinking that there isn’t such a thing as “Good” fat, but there is. In fact, we would have a really difficult time without those good fats. They help us with vitamin absorption, immune system function, healthy cell activity and proper nerve health.
Good Fats
Good fats are better known as Polyunsaturated Fats and Monounsaturated Fats. They are found in plant/vegetable oils, avocados, olives, almonds, peanuts, pecans, cold water fish and seeds like pumpkin and sesame seeds. These Good fats are liquid at room temperature.
Bad Fats
“Bad” fats, however, are solid at room temperature and turn liquid when heated. They are better known as Saturated fat and Trans fat. Some saturated fat is okay in small quantities. Saturated fat comes in milk, ice cream, butter, cheese, coconut oil and fatty meats. However, if these saturated food products are produced in a non-processed more natural way, the possible health risks that make people call saturated fat a “Bad” fat are greatly reduced. Isabel De Los Rios of The Diet Solution says that saturated fat is not the cause of heart disease. Instead, she shows you how it is the processed foods of our modern day that are the culprit. Processed foods are very often made with Trans fats.
Trans Fats…Very Bad For Your Body
Trans fat is the worst fat there is. It is also called hydrogenated fat because it is made by adding hydrogen to vegetable oil and can be found in cake icing, stick margarine, shortening, commercially baked goods (breads, cookies, cakes, crackers, doughnuts, muffins, etc.) and even microwave popcorn. Avoid trans fats at all costs. It will never make your body fit, it will make it fat. This stuff raises your bad cholesterol while also lowering your good cholesterol. It increases your risk of developing heart disease and stroke. It’s also associated with the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. In recent years, food manufacturers have been using it less and less, but it is still out there.
A Sexy Flat Tummy…Two Vital Things You Must Do To Get It!
Image: photostock / FreeDigitalPhotos.net
Flat Tummy…Get One or Be Ignored!
Men will always drool over a woman with a flat tummy and women love men with washboard abs. That’s just the facts of life and another reason to get a fit body. If you have a flat tummy, then you know how great you feel and how high your confidence is. If you don’t have a flat tummy, then you need to make two critical changes to your lifestyle to get them.
* Most of your exercises should target the largest muscle groups. Don’t go crazy on sit-ups, crunches or other ab-related exercise equipment. A little is fine, but understand that targeting the abdominal area only is not what removes the belly fat that covers your abs. Exercising the largest muscle groups is what does it. Fat burning happens over your entire body, not just a targeted area and muscles burn fat. That means the largest muscle groups in your body burn the most fat and that’s what you want. The more fat you burn, the less fat on your tummy and the rest of your body. Once the fat is gone, then you will see the toned muscles underneath. That’s how it works and it works better when you combine it with a proper low-calorie nutritional diet.
* Follow proper nutrition guidelines. Stay far away from diet fads and restrictive diets which actually cause your body to store more fat. When your body feels restricted to just a low-carb diet or some other fad, it thinks you’re in trouble and stores fat to protect you. The human body was meant to eat a variety of foods from natural and healthy sources that contain carbs, protein, vegetables, fruit and yes, fat. You need to know that there are good fats your body needs and what foods contain them.
Getting and maintaining a flat tummy does require a dedicated effort and the combination of proper exercise and proper nutrition. Good education on nutrition and proper exercise technique will keep you from wasting your efforts which does happen when you don’t eat correctly and don’t exercise with the proper intensity. You can over-exercise as well as under-excercise.
Seek professional guidance for proper exercise technique and the proper diet that is right for you to help you get a fit body.
Weight Loss Sabotage?

Are You Sabotaging Your Weight Loss Success?
Have you failed repeatedly in your attempts to get a fit body? You try and try and the weight always comes back! Want to know why?
- Unknowingly, you may be doing something that sabotages your good efforts
- You may be using products made by manufacturers that don’t want you to be thin
- You lack the knowledge you need to understand how your body works to burn fat
So, what’s the answer? Simple…you need some education! Most diets, diet books, diet pills and other fads only give you short-term success. Only when you possess and act upon the knowledge of how your body works will you see how easy success can be.
- You’ll eat a full meal and still lose weight.
- You’ll lose your cravings.
- You’ll do it knowing you’ve found a new lifestyle, not a new diet.
Three Things You May Not Know That Prevent Your Success!
What determines if you burn fat or not is a protein called Leptin. The amount of Leptin in your body tells the brain whether your body should store fat or burn fat. Low Leptin levels can slow or even stop your metabolism, lower thyroid hormone levels, increase fat storing hormones and increase your appetite or cravings. So, when you skip a meal or undereat to follow some fad diet suggestion, you might think you’re going to lose some weight, but really you’re putting your body into a fat storage mode. Nutrition (eating the right foods in the right amounts at the right time) is 80% of the battle when it comes to weight loss.
Each of us has a relationship to food and some of us fall victim to our emotions. We reach for foods that comfort us instead of the foods our body needs. Understanding how your mind and emotions affect how you eat will allow you to take control of yourself and get in tune with your body so that you burn fat consistenty instead of gaining it back over and over again.
Some food products may call themselves “low fat” or “low sugar,” but may contain other ingredients that will sabotage your goals. Becoming aware of everything in the products you eat is essential to becoming fit. Many fitness experts have suspected for a long time now that companies promoting diet foods don’t really want you gettng thin. They just want you to believe that you are starting to lose weight because of their product and then when those other ingredients cause your body to put weight back on, they hope you’ll buy their product again.
Education, Nutrition, Exercise
If I’ve learned anything from Weight-loss Experts and Personal Fitness Trainers, it is that we all need to educate ourselves about how our body handles food so that you’ll know exactly what to expect your body to do when you eat what you eat. With that education, you will understand principles of nutrition to give your body what it needs to burn fat and not feel hungry. Once you’ve resolved your nutrition issues you can then add a little exercise to build your muscles which will burn even more fat.
